Proper Equipment for 35G HEX

I have a 35 Gallon Hex with a Skilter 250, 40 lb. of live rock, and 40 lb. of live sand. I have had the tnak now for more then 4 months. I do not like the clarity of the water and do not think the skilter is working well. I always have to adjust the air intake valve and there is always debris floaitng in the tank. Do I need a UV sterilizer or different filter/protien skimmer? What is the best hang on protien skimmer? Also what would you suggest for the best lighting. I have a corallife 24" light which has both the white and blue light. I would like to keep both corals and fish in my tank. Thanks any information is greatly appreciated.

The Skilters get pretty poor comments, in general. There's no objective data on skimmers, but for that size tank, the Remora and CoraLife SuperSkimmers get about the best comments, unless you want to spring for a Deltec ($$$).

UV is optional, but might help a bit. I'd get the skimmer first, and work from there.

What animals do you intend to keep? How many watts is your current setup?

How is the remora? I was about to purchase the remora today and was waiting for a response. The Deltec seems a little pricy, is there a big difference between the deltec and the aquac remora? The lamp i have is a coralife 50/50 28 watt bulb. Let me know if this is sufficient or if I shoud upgrade this as well. I would like to keep corals, invertebrates, and several fish. I have right now a large clown, lunar wrasse, blue mushroom coral, and xenia. Thanks!

There's no data, so we're all guessing. I am getting unhappy with my Remora Pro because it has such a heavy pump hanging on a bit of vinyl tubing. I'm about to test a CoraLife skimmer side by side with it.

The Deltec does get very good reviews.
