Proph. Prazipro and Metro treatment

You can actually use them concurrently. That's what this medication does.
I have used both Prazi & Metro before, but never together like API General Cure combines them.
Prazi I've had great success with and would not hesitate to use it. Metro seems to be harsh on the fish, and I've lost more than one while using it. But it's the only treatment I know of for intestinal parasites, so I don't really have much choice.
I looked on fish pharm and think I will either use their product or Hikari. You say the metro was rough on the fish. I thought about getting the fish, fattening it up for 2 weeks, then start Prazipro, then let the fish recover for 2 weeks and start metro and if the fish seems stressed I'll just stop the treatment.

Gill flukes (Prazi) seem to be much more common than intestinal parasites (Metro). So, what I do is only treat with Prazipro. If a fish has intestinal parasites you will notice it not being able to put on weight, white stringy poop, etc. These symptoms should show themselves within the first month in QT. IMO, that is when you want to think about using Metro.

Can I ask why? Ich is very common and good at slipping though "observational" qt.
I just here its really hard on the animal (Cu) so if I don't see any in 8 weeks I just figured it might be better left alone.
Will chlor phosphate or something else besides copper treat it? TT is out...so really my only other option would be hypo but some folks say it really isn't to effective so I guess at this point I just don't know what the best method is.

I have used CP to treat crypto with great success - 60mg/gal for active infections, 40mg/gal for general quarantine. I have treated clownfish, rabbitfish, chromis, basslets and firefish successfully. The only challenges I have come across have been Paracheilinus spp. (flasher) wrasses. They seem to tolerate CP for 3-4 days, then perish quickly thereafter.
If you are interested in giving CP a go, there's a lengthy thread in this forum with a great deal of information on it. CP is still not considered "mainstream" by many hobbyists, but it is used by public aquariums and is advocated by a number of fish disease specialists like Edward Noga and Bob Goemans. I prefer it to copper-based medications, as it is well-tolerated by fish in general and is a "one and done" medication.
