Does any treat fish in QT just because, ie copper,formalin, to ward off evil spirits?

Copper and Formalin may be too harsh as a prophylactic. When I QT fish I give him a day than I start lowering salinity to bring him into hypo where I keep him in hypo for 6 weeks. In that time you will see if it will need any further treatments that hypo won't solve. And of course you know it will give it time to eat and get fattened up in a competitive tank.

yes and no.

yes to prophylaxis of wild caught fish for the internal parasitic infestations.

no about evil spirits. that's what garlic is for.
