Prophylactic Treatment in QT for sensitive fish

After what was either a really severe Ich outbreak or possibly velvet, I've decided to quarantine and treat the survivors and any new additions.

Chloroquine Phosphate seems like the best option, but I have heard most wrasses and hippo tangs don't do well with CP. Is there a list somewhere of fish that can't handle CP?

What is the best option for treating fish that won't tolerate Chloroquine? I have a feeling it's Copper, which I'd rather avoid.

Any experience with CP + Prazipro and CP + Prime or Amquel? I know I can't use UV or Carbon while treating. Not sure if CP will nuke the biofiltration and cause ammonia spikes.

CP doesn't do anything to the biofiltration. It does kill all algae which can cause an ammonia spike.

All of my fish stopped eating while on CP so far, resume once out of it...so I've decided for my 300 gallon to do TTM for ich.. if it's velvet I'll still use CP.

Although I might give CP one more shot.. so far I only treated a pair of clownfish and a powder blue tang, and it was effective.

I've done CP and prazipro and amquel, I've used something other than prime as a water conditioner with it as well.. it still seemed to be effective. One of those combinations may have been what triggered the lack of appetite. But CP and prazipro a lot of people use and don't report problems with that combo.

Syngnathidae: Pipefish, Seahorses.
I would rather err on the side of caution and include all Syngnathiformes:

• Centriscidae "“ razorfishes, shrimpfishes, and snipefishes (including Macroramphosidae)
• Solenostomidae "“ false pipefishes, ghost pipefishes, and tubemouth fishes
• Syngnathidae "“ seahorses and true pipefishes
• Aulostomidae "“ trumpetfishes
• Fistulariidae "“ cornetfishes

As for the Labridae (wrasses): some handle it and some don't - it's a large and very diverse group of fish, so it is likely that not all are affected equally.
As with the Syngnathidae I would rather err on the side of caution and assume all to be sensitive until reported otherwise.

Your feeling was correct. One of the last situations where copper is actually your only and best choice.

tangs of any species shouldn't have a problem.. if someone had a problem it might have been the fish itself, or the type(brand) of CP used.

Yes, tangs, angels, butterflies, damselfish incl. anemonefish, basslets,... all shouldn't have a serious problem with CP.
