propogated bubble success!!!!!

As many of you here know I am brand new at this whole saltwater thing. After talking to three different sources I decided to embark on a costly risk. I took my bubble coral and split it into 3 pieces. The way that I was told to do this was to take a very sharp (preferrably new) chisle and sterilize it well. Take the bubble out of the tank and place it into a dish of water. Then you wave the water around to make a strong current. After the bubbles are all retracted and out of the way you take the chisle, place it into one of the seams of the membrane, and then firmly take a hammer and split the rock. Amazingly the bubble looks better than it did before splitting it. Good luck. God knows I had it.......

I have photos after it was split and put into the tank again. I gave the one frag to drbronx tonight, but have pics of the three in the tank. I will post them on my gallery.

Thanx for the bubble frag and it was nice to meet you. That was very courageous to attempt, especially for a relative beginner. Next time you are down thus way, we will have to try it with my big green bubble.

Not a problem. The frags that you gave me opened up really nice. Still waiting to see how that one does in my tank. Still not too sure.
