Pros/Cons of allowing Crocea to attach to shells?

I've had a Crocea in the sandbed for about a month now.
Time to move him on up, to the east side, to a deluxe apartment in the skyyy....yyy....yyyyyyy.

I was thinking about putting a shell under him to attach his foot to, ala alot of you :)

I want to do this in the sandbed first.
Let him get firmly attached and then move him up the tank about 4 inches, wait a month and then another few inches.

I am running 2, 250 w mh 10,000k Ushios.
Is there anything wrong with this plan?

Also, is a shell the way to go? I am hesitant about letting him attach to a piece of rock in case I need to landscape in the future...rahter not disturb him from 'his' spot.

Thank you.

Sounds like a good idea Sean.

It is alot easier to remove for parasite inspection/ removal when attached to a shell, or small rock. Or when you have to re-arrange your rock. Which you will.

Only con is having trouble placing them on rocks with a shell attached, size wise.

Best of luck, Rob
