Protein Skimmer bubbles

I have been cycling my tank for over a week. I initially turned on the skimmer, I don't think I had this much air bubbles as I do now.

I have an aquaclear 70, below it a wavemaker and to the right of it, the aquaticlife 115 nano skimmer.

Do these bubble subside in time or something is wrong with the setup?
The output flow of the AQ70 is too close to the skimmer intake?

Aquaticlife tech support said I should get the bubble column in the collection cup to 1/3. So far I can only adjust to 1/2 lowest. Initially, I could get it lower.
Not sure if it the skimmer(not running), sitting in the water for a week caused some build up?

Not sure what I'm looking at in those pictures but skimmers can take time to break in and if you have added any chemicals to the tank that can mess with a skimmers ability to make foam (sometimes causing less..sometimes causing more)

Make sure you have it in the recommended water height and let it run wide open for a few days then try to adjust it properly..

Yes, those bubbles will disappear given time. Just open the gate all the way and be patient.
Also, the water level needs to line up in the middle of that gate for the skimmer to work properly. (see directions) The suction cups don't hold very well either, so you might want to keep the bottom two on and use the plastic latch that comes with the unit to secure the skimmer. Make sure to pour a little fresh water down the air intake every few days or so too. This will keep salt creep from developing and keep the line open. Once everything is dialed in this little skimmer is a beast IME, especially for $50 bucks.

Great. Thank you.

I super glued the suction cups and did the long air hose mod.
Also using the latch. You are correct, the suction cups are crap.

I used Gorilla Super Glue. I have notice in two tanks so far, after few days,
thin white film floats around and it is the super glue. Did the vapors solidify in the water?

Strange since people are using this on coral frags. I picked out most of the super glue
as much as possible.

The glue could be why your skimmer is going crazy. It may be adding chemicals to the water. Probably want to filter with some carbon.
