Protein skimmer for 29 gallon Coralife nano

I recently bought a 29 gallon Coralife Bio Cube and set it up on December 29, 2015. I switched over from a 24 gallon Aquapod reef tank since it sprang a leak after 9 years. I am on the fence about using the oceanic protein skimmer which I was running in my 24 gallon tank. My question is do I even need the protein skimmer since it does not sit well in the first chamber in the rear compartment of the 29 gallon Coralife Bio cube ?
In the second chamber of the 29 gallon I have the inTank media basket with chemipure blue, matrix, purigen and next to that is the inTank Fuge basket with cheato lit at night when the main tank lights are off. I also have filter floss in the first media basket that the water director spills into before it goes into the fuge basket. If I could find a good protein skimmer that fits in the first chamber without modification or losing the hood I would like to run a protein skimmer on this new tank. I do have two black ice clowns and one pearl jawfish ,snails, one emerald crab. I also have small frags of green star polyps, zoas, acan, Duncan coral one of each. The hood has stock lighting except I switched out the daylight lamps for a catalina compact 50/50 actinic/10k plus 2 50watt additional moon lights. In the tank I have two koralia nano flow pumps and a wave maker and the ehiem 75 watt heater. All constructive thoughts are appreciated.

hehehe 50w moonlights. (either the spec is totally wrong, or your moonlights are as bright as your power compacts, if not brighter; My entire lighting setup runs at around 65 watts or so, and in most cases, LEDs are ~3w each unless it is a big puck). With 50w you could light up the night around your house.

You can install the aquaticlife 115 and use the ReefThuz walkthrough on youtube for how to install the magnets to it so you don't have to cut your hood at all. My hood is cut, and I never notice it. But at least there are options. Great skimmer and fits perfectly in the first chamber.

It's great to see that your aquapod lasted that long! I wonder where my old 24g cube is today...

Thank you for your reply, yes you are correct I typed the incorrect wattage for the moon lights which are 0.75 watt . I was not intending to light up New York . I will look into your suggestion for the nano protein skimmer .

I second the AquaticLife 115.

Great Little skimmer that fits in the first chamber with 1 of 2 very small modifications. Option 1 is to cut the hood so the bracket fits over the side of the tank. Option 2 requires buying some magnets(think they were like 30$) and cutting the bracket on the skimmer. Either one works great, just up to you to decide if you want to cut the skimmer bracket, or the hood.
