So about 2 weeks ago I converted a 20L into a sump with baffels and got rid of my 10 gallon. The baffles are 9 in so my skimmers in 9in of water. It was skimming fine for a werk, week and a half. Then this sat. I removed all my Live rock to remove a tomato clown and coral beauty. Put everything back together and now my skimmer is constantly overflowing. I removed the collection cup and it's been overflowing back into the sump since. It's adjusted at the lowest level. Is it possible it just broke? I did raise the skimmer and it seemed to work. Could my water level be to high, if so why did it work the week before? Thank you before hand. I did do a 15% w/c after the rearrangement

Not exactly sure, all I know is my simmer is a awesome skimmer, but tends to be EXTREMELY sensitive to water levels.... Im guessing it is a n adjustment issue in relation to water level. My suggestion is to adjust the height the simmer sits before tunning(IE raising as you mentioned before).

What skimmer? Skimmers have an optimum operating depth, i.e. most Reef Octopus work best in 5 - 6", where the Bubble Magus work best in 9 - 10". If the skimmer was new it may have been breaking in for the first week or so. You may have to build a small platform for the skimmer to sit on, to get it to it's best operating depth.

Its an old eshopps psk100 that was working fine in 8 in of water with my 10g sump. And was working in 9in until I rearranged everything. As long as its pumping means it is not broken?

If you set it on the lowest setting and pull a cup of skimate after 4 hours or so then sometimes it will readjust. Think of it like skimming all the soap from a body of water, when the soap isn't there any more it will settle down. I've knowticed my skimmer do this as well from time to time when I stir up the tank. If this dosnt work, wait a few days and the foam will breakdown Biologically then the skimmer will work again. If this still doesn't work then lift you skimmer so it's in less water and try again. The fact it was working before you rearranged your tank makes it seem like you released something into the water column.

could have been lotion or oils on your skin if you had your hands in the tank a lot.
... or something is clogged on your skimmer intake.
