Protein skimmer problems

Hello, I'm having issues getting my magnus curve protein skimmer to work? I just started my cycle and when I turn on my skimmer the bubbles won't reach the collection cup. They go about half way up and just stay there. I've tried adjusting. IDE appreciate any advice. Thx

What's the water level ?can you raise the level in the sump has the skimmer been broken in?

It is most likely a combination of the skimmer needing to break in (this usually takes a few days) and a lack of proteins in the water for the skimmer to skim. Do be sure you have the skimmer in the manufacturer's recommended depth of water.
