protein skimmer testing

Has anyone hear of testing protien skimmers side by side , I'm doing a science fair project, and i am testing protien skimmers side by side. and I need a similar study anyone have a link?

I have brought this up in another forum. You could test them by using a protein based ink. and timing the amount of time until you get a certain amount of ink out. You'd have to use RO/DI of course because the ink would have to be the only impurity other than the salt. Don't konw if they'd have to be "cured" skimmers or not, but I think that it'd work

Except that protiens aren't the only thing skimmers take out.

And rate really doesnt matter in most cases. Most of us have skimmers that sit idle for most of the day, the big difference isnt how fast they can take stuff, but how well.
