i have a reef octopus nw 200 on order right now (backorder unfortunately) and it cost me about $200. seems to be a great skimmer with good reviews. going to be putting it on my 90 gallon sps tank and am sure it will do more than great for it. the chamber is 8" diameter which allows for alot of contact time, most other skimmers that size run you over $300 easy, plus there are about 3 mods that can be done to it to make it twice as awsome. i will keep you posted on how mine works once i get it in next week or so, can't wait!

Not many talk about Tunze skimmers. I have a 9010 and it works awesome and pulls great skimmate IME-no mods needed. It is also very compact in size which is really good if you have limited space.

I really like my euro reef skimmer. I imagine the reef octopus skimmers function as good, but it is made cheaper......I have a friend with one and the design seems almost exaclty the same, but it feels a bit flimsy compared to my euro reef.

I might be Juice's friend with the Octopus, but if not, I am ONE of his friends with an Octopus....It may not be made as well as some of the bigger bux skimmers, but it sucks tons of nastiness out of my tank....especially once I realized it could be clogged behind its little venturi and in front of the motor intake....cleaning out there made it work MUCH better....it was running choked...

I have a reef octpus DNW-150 recirc. Its less than 1 year and half the price of new. Check out my post.
