Protein skimmers

what is everyone's thoughts on these? I have a 125 gallon and a 26 gallon and the filtration seems to be doing just fine......advice:spin2:

whats the question? Most people will tell you their protein skimmers are a very important part of their systems filtration. However there are plenty of examples out there of people running successful tanks without one and just relying on water changes.

Wellll I'd say if ur filtration is doing its job, it ain't broke. You know what they say about that

If you got the money and the space I'd definitely add a skimmer.

Have you tested your Nitrates recently? This is usually an indication of how hard the tank is working to process all the crap within it.
