Aquahut sells a Coralife Super Skimmer for around 85 bucks and it works well but is a pain to adjust. Do not buy a Prizm or a Jebo I made those mistakes for you LOL. I learned a lesson from these guys here and I wish I would have listened. Take the skimmer that is rated for your tank and at least double it. Trust me in the long run you wont be sorry!
3 things not to skimp on.... Skimmer and lighting!
Good advice though. Dont end up with a garage full of crappy skimmers like the rest of us. Buy a good one the first time, at worst you can always sell it of you upgrade.
The Aqua-C Remora Pro is a nice, relatively inexpensive and easy-to use one for smaller systems. If i wnet larger I'd probably go with an ASM (cheaper) or Euro-reef (more expensive).
I have a used bak pak 2r (reef) with a brand new pump still in box. they go for like $130 new. $75 and its yours. I used it on my 55 reef and it worked good. I had to upgrade when I got my new tank thats why it is for sale. It is made by CPR Aquatics.
I have a "Sea Clone"Skimmer for 3 years and its great! Dr.Foster & Smith sells it for $75.00....you will need the one for up to 100 gallon. I think #100... SeaClone 150 for up to 150 gal.all the others are crap.....Dr. Foster & Dr. Smith are on line....they have good hard supplies and good stock on invert, corals, etc.
