Protopallys with white growth

Hello - can anybody help ID what is going on here with some protos I have?

I am guessing this white fungus like growth is not good - please advise.

I'm thinking it is some kind of sponge. Watch it. If it starts overgrowing the polyps, rip it out.

Got ya, it is already covering a few of the smaller polyps at the base, I'll see what I can do about removing it.

If you try to remove it manually, try to get off as much possible. Otherwise it could foul yout water.

I'll have to investigate that, it's growing back pretty fast after I pulled some of it off with tongs. These have taken root and are spreading very nicely on that rock so a dip will be difficult.
