I have not heard any reviews lately on the PTC. For those who have purchased one or more --- what do you think?

Also, how much are they? I have about 220g of total volume counting the sump and use 3x 400w MH. Sounds like I'd need more than one PTC-6 and I've got the impression thats kind of $$$$.

220g is about 1000l ?

I think that one PTC is too less.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to hear from some of your customers regarding their opinion. I think the peltier design is very interesting especially considering the lower power consumption that these would consume vs. a chiller however the price is quite expensive for me. Nearly 2000 Canadian if not more for 1 PT-6 and as you say, and as I suspected, I would need more than 1 PT-6.

One of our clients in BC will have theirs just after Christmas and will be doing a review here on RC

Quite a number have been sold, I guess not everyone has the time for reviews :( but as we have not heard back from them i think that is a positive statement in itself :)

The units I agree are not for everyone due to the initial outlay, but are actually cheaper than similar units that have no control facility to the profiLux, and when taking into account functionality/quality and also cheaper running costs, the price becomes less of an issue over time.

The units are special order only from GHL so please give us enough notice if you do decide to go down this great technological path.

If I were to go down this path, what setup would I require for a 180g display with 40g sump running 3x 400w MHs. Can you please provide a quote and which units I would require.

In addition to the above description, the tank resides in a basement and the room temperature in the summer with supplied air conditioning is approximately 24-25 C with lights on. Sometimes, the room temperature reaches 26-27 C. I have not monitored the tank temperature much since I am still building the setup but I aim to keep the tank water no higher than 79 and would prefer minimal swings maintaining 78-79 C of water temp.

Cheers
