Puerto Rico diving?

We're going to Puerto Rico in September... anyone have experience w/any particular dive sites around there? I've researched tons of sites & info, but it's just nice to hear it from actual experience!
Thanks!

Try a large bookstore wth a comprehensive travel section, or search on line for books (Amazon, Alibris, etc.) that cover the many, many dive sites in P.R. from the east coast islands to the western and southern shorelines. There is plenty of excellent diving. Ponce, Culebra, the list is very long.
Most internet sites will be brief, and often more an attempt to sell than detailed objective info. You need a guidebook specializing in scuba in Puerto Rico. Even better, two current guidebooks. There are dozens of them.
Forget the internet as a source of good detailed information. Buy a book. It's the only way, really.

Go to Rincon, and hook up with the Tiano Dive shop. Have them take you Desecheo. I dove Candy land, Caves and Los pesones. If you have time have them take you to Mona. Never did get to go but people I talked to said it was the best Puerto Rico had to offer. I lived there for a year while working at a pharmaceutical plant. If you got to Fajardo, you can dive Culebra, and Vieques: both are excellent.
Out of Ponce you can dive the wall on the North side of Isle De Mureto "island of the Dead". This is a ok dive. Sorry if my spanish spelling is off!

thanks a bunch.... it's nice to get an opinion of someone who's been there, even better someone who lived there!
We'll definitely try it all out- will post info when we return!

I just noticed that one of my dive mags had a big write up on PR. Go to thier web site, you might be able to pull it up.

SCUBA Diving the mag, December 2007.

Also try La Parguera North of Ponce, and dive the Wall. There are two of them. Also great diving.
