puffer issue

I purchased 4 inch stars and strips puffer about a month ago. He is doing fine with other fish ,eating well and moving around with tankmates. I noticed that he is getting darker and darkerr in color, not same color as when he was at LFS. Any thoughts on reason for getting so dark?

Possibly changing to mature color?

Make sure he's round not fat just round if it's his belly that's getting darker could be internal parasites

If my puffer is not in a good mood, not being fed, water parameters not right, etc. he will be darker in color.
