i got my puffer about a week ago and tried to feed him frozen squid and silversides...when he does get food he will just spit it out then my lunare wrasse gets the food... what should i do ...i don't want him to starve and die.?

If he is breathing ok and swimming around fine, don't worry. He just is being fussy. Once he settles in a bit more he'll likely be a pig. They can go a couple of weeks without food. Plus he's been swallowing little bits of the food in his mouth, so he is getting a tiny bit of nutrition. Check your ph and nitrate levels, make sure they are good.

Don't worry...
"Puffer not liking food" = "Michael Jackson not liking little boys" = "Chickens not laying eggs" = "No water in ocean" = "Vice President not shooting someone":lol2:

What kind of puffer is he? I have a golden that didnt eat ANYTHING for a month. others that were pigs when i dropped them in the tank.

I have never had a puffer, ( owned 7 species ) that liked silversides, and only the big ones touch squid. I feed mine combinations of pellets, krill, cockle, mussels, prawns, formula 1&2, PE mysis shrimp, and occasionally gut loaded feeder shrimp.

Some of my puffers eat all of that, some just a couple things. I like to offer a variety of foods. My biggest, all gold puffer, 12 " eats ONLY pellets. They have to be brown colored pellets too! He wont touch green spirulina pellets, very picky.
