puffers compatibility

Does anyone know if the golden puffer is compatible with the mappa puffer?
I currently have a golden puffer in my 180 gal FOWLR tank along with other fish but was wondering if I can add the mappa puffer.
Please let me know.
Thanks

I vote no. I don't know 100%, but I have been told to only mix a smooth with a spiky. :)
When two puffers fight it can be real nasty so be careful.

I agree with reefergeorge. Most of the time the smooth ones will fight with or kill other smooth ones. But, like all things in keeping fish, there are exceptions. I have a dogfaced, stars and stripes, and a guinea fowl all in the same tank. The only problem I have is that the guinea fowl occasionally with chase away the dogfaced during feeding time (but once the food actually comes into the tank he leaves the dogfaced alone).

So, even though the rule is do not mix smooth with smooth or spiky with spiky, there are other factors, like...

Tank size
Puffer sizes
Puffer ages
Order of introduction
Individual puffer personality

IMO, I wouldn't recommend it, even though it was worked out fine for me so far.

I say no way unless you get a bigger tank. For me a 180G is pushing it for a Mappa anyways. They really need bigger than that.

What about a porcupine?

my dogface and my stars/stripes acted like they never even knew the other was in the same tank(210g) infact they both slept at the same end of the tank less than 6 inches from each other every night..(RIP..tank crash of 2007)
