I've had on and off issues with a brown algae one the glass, sand, and the seio/returns
I can't figure out if it's from dead spots...It comes off very easily but keeps coming back...I'm running a split return with a mag 7 and a Seio 1100...I was having problems with dead spots because I had the seio on the same side as the overflow so it was hard for it to get to the overflow...I just switched it last night and I'm not seeing anything sitting on top anymore...Will this just take time...I have a coralife super skimmer 125 (for now)
I use RO/DI water...(just tested with TDS)
I do a 25-30% water change every 10 days
I am NOT overfeeding...I did have a problem with nitrates being in the water by the time it got to the tank...Confused beyond, I tested every aspect and found that it was pet hair getting into my RO can. 15-20 on Nitrates isn't that bad so I'm not sure
Water parameters are
Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-15-20
Calcium-380
KH-11-13
PH-8.1-8.3
Phosphates (undetectable but also running phosguard)
Also running Chemi-Pure (2-40g bags)
I also have about 25-30 nassarius snails and 3 serpant stars and tons of bristle worms
Is this a flow issue? I have my seio pointed towards the top making the top of the water ripple...Should I be directing it down to the sand? Although it seems more so on one side of the tank when speaking of the sand...Even after moving the seio...It's still on the same side and I have one of the returns pointed at the sand...
