Hello, I just recently purchased a blue pulsating Xenia. When it was at the LFS it was pulsing. At home in my display it was pulsating for the first day and now it looks like it's withering not pulsating. Can anyone help with suggestions or advice for xenias? My water parameters are all in check.. Calc 450, alk 10, mag 1350, nitrates about 10, ph 8

xenias can be picky IMO, I found out some don't like alot of flow to pulse and some like a little.

the reason xenia pulse is because they are found in very low flow water movement areas and the pulsing helps keep the water around them to move in order to get more food.

Blue pulsing Xenia? Never heard of any. Are you sure its not a blue cespitularia or blue anthelia? They both look very similar to pulsing xenia but neither pulse at all. Do you have any pics?

Sometimes mine pulses other times it just swings in the flow. As long as it is open I would say its fine. However it sounds like yours isnt opening? May need a new spot or it could just be acclimating to its new home.
