Pulsing Xenia and shrooms for the swap

I have some pulsing Xenia and a good size rock covered in red shrooms if anyone is interested.

I just need advice on fraging the xenia. Its on a good sized rock but I want to keep the to hairy shrooms that are on it.

Should I cut the shrooms off and bring the whole rock or should i cut the xenia?

I would cut the xenia and sell it unattached to anything. It is an easy coral for people to attach to things in their tank.
I am going to be looking for nano sized colorful mushrooms and polyps

do you jst cut them with a razor at the base

That would work.....but you can't kill the stuff.
I had a single 'limb' get cut while I was slicing some off a rock. I saw where it fell (inside a rock), and it apparenlty attached. Now it's huge and I'd rather not have it growing where it's growing.

I'm thinking that there will be quite a bit of xenia at the swap.

So long as it does not have any surface it can Walk to, it wont spread. but if the stanks can touch another rock, glass etc.. LOOK OUT

I swear to you....I have it crawling on my sand!!! I don't have my camera with me at home (but I'll get a shot this weekend). It's attached to literally nothing more than sand/very small pcs of gravel.

Ditto.. one of the frags I am bringing is some Xenia that was burried in the back of the tnak on some sand. I have 2 strains in my tnak. some short almost silver pulsing ones, and the very pink long flowing kind. Wifey loves them. her favorite coral. I am tempted to try to get them to grow up the back wall. imagine just a Xenia wall. talk aobut a neat background. saw it once before...

Mine have all crawled to the top. I typically can't get them to stay mid-way up the wall. I have one frag right now that has stopped mid-way, and it's slowly shriveling up to nothing. (The ones at the top have created this huge canopy that blocks the light).

I personally would not cut it and bring it unattatched. Most newbies looking for easy starters may be scared off from the thought of attatching something no matter how easy it sounds. I sold some spagetti unattatched in Chatty and the poor fellow lost it and I felt kinda bad. I assured him how easy it was to do. I would take a flat tip screwdriver and a hammer and just whack off the shrooms you want to keep . You would have a edge over the other xenia if it was a whole colony on a nice rock. The rock alone would bring you a higher price. Good luck!

Question:

I am only goining to bring the rock with the red shrooms and the rock with all the xenia on it ( managed to chip off the part with the hairy shrooms). I don't want to purchase a table due to th fact I wouldn't break even with the cost of the table. Would any one be interested in leting me put my two peices with theirs?
