pulsing xenia coral help

i have had a xenia coral for a few weeks big colony that was doing very well then one day one head closed up. for a day or or two then slowy opened up about half way then another head did the same ting and so one now they all ony open up about half way nothing like they use to is this normal.

Xenia is one of the weird corals, they either thrive or die. In my main tank they grow like a weed, from down in the sand to the very top of the over flow, high flow to mild flow. Now in my frag sytem they die. I use the same salt water, same temp, same light, same every thing. One tank they live the other they die. I have never been able to find the cause or what the difference is.

sometimes its a 50/50 with those corals jsut have good lighting moderate water flow and feed them once a week
