Pulsing Xenia Question

I've had pulsing xenia for couple years fast growing and fragged many. For six months I've increased small daily water changes (80 gallon 5 cups daily) trying to bring years worth of red cyno under control. It grows under everything corals included kills zoos pain in the (@#&$. Since the water changes the xenias have been melting away and algae still grows out of control I don't understand what is happening? No nitrates or phosphates detected. Please advise growing macro, small scrubber and water changes. Red cyno still persistent now xenia dying. Tired blowing off this red scum from under GSP!

How can I get rid of the nuisance algae and cyno without killing the xenia?

I don't like that saying that says Xenia likes dirty water. It absorbs dissolved organics from the water so it does better in tanks that feed heavy and have a lot of dissolved organics.

If your nitrate and phosphate levels are low then I would try Red Slime remover

You can also get it from Amazon, BRS or Drs Foster and Smith.

I've used it to great success, always do the follow-up treatment 2 days later like the instructions say. I did it with a heavily stocked tank with snails and crabs with no ill effects.

I got a blue green cyano even though my phosphate was undetectable and my nitrates were less than 5.
