Pump Current

I notice that the Profilux has different programs for pump control. Surge 1, Surge 2, Seq 1, Seq 2, waves and RANDOM. What is Random? Does the unit go through all the different programs through out the day in Random?

Yes. But it's only useful when you have multiple pumps in the same group. At least two to take any advantage of it.

That's what I have, two pumps now. Thinking about adding a third.

Right now I am running them on Surge1 with 100% random reduction. Which setting do you prefer?

I dont know. I only have one pump running. But If I have multiple I probably do the permanent opposite and select a square wave to have that back'n forth motion.
Your liking may varies.

Square wave? Is that the right angle wave, if not then what is the difference between the two?

Yes. Right angle waves are square waves. Same as pulse wave. You can control how long between each pulses and how wide the pulses are. Pretty cool. I guess the best way is to experiment with all the modes available and watch your tank.

i have 2 ecotech mp60's

i have been using the ecotech modes...not loving them...

i think its time to try the ghl pump modes...

the 2 pumps are on opposite sides of a 8ft tank....

whats would be the recommendation on how to configure them on profilux modes???
