Is the Sedra 3500 pump for the G-2 skimmer the only/best pump for the job or can you use other pumps on the setup? Anyone know where to get a new impellor for the Sedra 3500?

My G-2 came with Sedra 5000.

5000 is a whole lot better, I would suggest using 3/4 PVC and putting a "T" inside you can keep the same rubber grommet in skimmer. I am going to pull mine and put 2 45 elbows with the "T" to turn the flow to the bottom of the skimmer. The only thing I had to do was use eggcrate under the skimmer to make the skimmer level with the pump as the pump is taller than the 3500. But I highly recommend the change. If you order the pump from Sarris it will come with the venturi valve and air tube that you will need. Just make sure Chris orders the pump he ordered me. It will ship in the wrong box just so you know.
