Pump recomendation for my diy bk?

Hi,
Finally, it's all glued together. Reaction chamber is 21" tall, 7" collection cup and 10" diameter tube. I need your input for what kind of pump would you use for it beside the red dragon. I will plumb it be able to do recirculatione, but I only want 1 pump that would be powerful enough avoid using recirc. pump. Here are the few pictures of it, please note my water level is adjust by rotating the tee(don't know whether is a good idea or not or I have to put a gate valve).

Hey loc,
what are you using for the neck in terms of removal of the cup?
Anyways, there are really only two choices in pumps,either the Eheims or Red Dragons.

Sedra 5000 or 9000 replacement pump for ASM skimmers. Make sure you get the skimmer replacement pump, they come with the needle wheel impeller and venturi.

Looking good Loc. I agree with Dattack on the pump. If you are going to use the Sedra 5000 or 9000 mind as well buy the ASM itself.

Why don't you give Ocean runner 3700 a try if you don't want to try the Eheim

I found this at Lowe"s I think it's called drainage adapter.

I am looking for the internal pump. Well, I might go with the Eheim pump.

read some of spazzs threads in the diy section. the sedras dont inject very much air. from what ive read, if your not willing to spend the money on a reddragon or one of the modified eheims you should get the oceanrunner 3700s.

Why not grab an OR3700l.... you can get them pretty cheap to try out.

hey loc dont get the 1262 you will not get any more flow out of it. Just get the 1260 and get the sedra 5000 needle wheel from seaside (fishsupply.com)http://store.fishsupply.com/spsd-g0034.html. Then i'll help you mod the pump to make it work with that. Let me know when your getting it. I got everything from fishsupply but when to their store instead.

Hey loc here are some pictures of the pump running and what kind of skimmate I get in just 1.5 days. The chamber is a milky white and I cant even see through it.

dont know i've never tried the 1262. From what i've read its gets the same performance as the 1260 but we can give it a try. I know that from Fins Reef forum he mentioned that its only get a little bit more air but not enogh to make up he diffrence of electricity consuption. Let me know when you want me to help you out with it.
