On a 600gal tank with two overflows each having 1-2" overflow and 1-11/2" and 1 0" return what size pump should I use with 15' of head pressure thanks in advance for any suggestions
What other equipment are you planning on running with it. I have chosen the hammerhead pump with 11' of head running a 45 gallon refugium my sump and my 2 returns. I will also be running a large xl1 pm skimmer off this. everything will be valved off. Everything is ordered for me but its what works for me might be to much pump for you.
why not run two pumps , at least it would give you some redundancy ? I would recommend ATB4200's if price isn't an issue. Very low watt draw for the output . Max head i think on the fs4200 is 15ft . I would ask victor at ATB if it would work if you are interested.
There's always the possibility of chaining two hammerheads or baracuda's
Good golly that's a lot of flow!
I agree that you should consider two pumps for redundancy.
I really like the panworld pumps, but they are high head at high flow rates.
Maybe a reeflo manta ray or tiger shark? But those things are huge and loud, and will dim the lights when they run!!
If you can avoid it, I would recommend against a pressure pump. Unless its necessary, they typically use a lot more electricity. Perhaps 2 Reeflo Darts?
Was planning on 100 gal sump with a Gal refugem this is my first large tank and not sure on flow needed in sump or how to plumb it the tank has 2 2" over flows and 2 1.5" returns and 2 1" returns just trying to step up from my 144 half round any help would be appreciated
