Pump suction question for reeflo snapper

I am looking at upgrading my pump to a reeflo snapper pump for my 65 gallon tank. I have a submersible in the sump now. If I went with this external pump I would want to use a suction pipe that went up over the top side ( just up off the pump to a 180 degree then back down to the bottom of the sump) of the sump rather than drilling the sump itself . Does anyone see a problem with this suction set-up or this pump? Thanks for any input.

The pump could lose its prime during a power failure and not be able to restart. Plus you would need to prime it initially which could be a small challenge. Cheekymonkey did his sump like this you could PM him about the prime issue.
