Hey Guys
I'm currently cycling live rock in my new 55 gal setup.
I originally had the return from the pump (mag 7) as flexible 'heater pipe' the heavy black stuff. But it was too stiff and i couldn't put i where i wanted.
So i thought i'll set it up with hard plumbing for neatness, 3/4 inch screwed onto the pump with T piece to control flow etc.
But i notice there is some bad vibration through the pipe work that amplifies the noise of the pump.
The pipework itself is supported only by the pump (in sump supported on foam base) and at the 90 degree at the base of the tank before it goes up into the tank (overflow type, its not drilled unfortunately)
I tried securing the pipe to the stand but that amplified the vibration even more, so now its just 'floating'.
Would it be advisable to connect the hard pvc pipe to the pump with soft flexible tube somehow?
Has anyone had this problem before?
