Purchasing New acrylic tank

in the process of acquiring quotes for a 140 gallon, 3/4" acrylic tank. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Custom size.

I have a clear for life and have been pleased with. Next tank will have rounded corners so that it will be easier to clean.

Round corners don't make it easier to clean but they do block out a few inches of viewable space vs just a seam.

Newfubar, welcome to the forums. Where are you located?

48"x30"x24" ~149.61 gallons

just be careful with scratches...

From personal experience.....

Acrylic.... Very clear, insanely light. Early love, and late hate. Scratches are permanent, unless you have infinite patience.

Glass.....Insanely heavy. Starphire is clear. More expensive. No scratches unless you are careless.

Bottom line: If you are at your end game, ie. never moving: go glass. If you are still at a stepping stone, and may move, go acrylic..

I speak from experience, cleaning coraline algae is easily removed from rounded corners than edges:)

In Ft Lauderdale. Thanks for all the replies, but was seeking advice on acrylic manufacturer recommendations. I am currently considering ******* (can't mention name here) or Midwest. Additionally, I noticed numerous recommendations for envision (I think that was the name - the guy out of oregon) from a thread around here somewhere.

Envision is the best. James will make the best tank for you. It will be costume made and built to last. No hesitation! All his tanks are a piece of art!

Go with John at advance acrylic. Customer service is A+, finished product is pretty awsome/beautiful, tanks are made like a brick, and he is reasonably priced. He's also a really nice guy. You won't regret going with him. I have a tank ordered and he says he is going to ship out next week. If you want me to take pics when I receive it if you don't mind waiting to make your order I will send you pics. This is my second tank from him. I also have his number if you are interested.

Stay away from T-e-n-e-c-o-r, you would not believe the hassle i have endured to get a simple tank. Check with some LFS to see who/where they get custom tanks. Might be able to get a better deal locally.
