Purple, and Helfrichi fire fish in 60 cube?

I think it's a gamble too that you will end up with a male & a female. I'm still on the fence myself about a helfrichi pair from DD as I've seen some people buy a pair & then months down the road they turn on each other.

The OP is referring to one of each species, a Helfrichi and a Purple. I do think this can work. Either add them at the same time, or the Helfrichi first.

Ive kept red and purple togeher in very small tanks (29 gallon) for years without issues, I dont see you having issue with a purple and helfrici in a 60.

I thought firefish had a strong dislike for other firefish unless they are male/female regardless of species.

If you decide to try it, let us know how it works out at introduction & several months down the road. I would have a separate tank ready if aggression starts.

I would check with Steve (snorvich) before you do this, he is a wealth of information on here.

There are other threads on here with the same info; single specimens of different species doesn't seem to be a problem. Multiples of the same will almost always lead to one over time (could take 6 months to a year).

I have a 150Gallon, bought 4 red and 1 Helfrichi over a year ago, it didn't take long for their to be just one red, but now him and the Helfrichi are best friends, they spend the entire day side by side

I think you should give it a try, I have heard many successful stories of different species of firefish getting along.
