Purple Brush Gorgonian

I was recently given a rather nice specimen earlier this week. From the pictures I have seen online, this is the gorgonian I have. What should I be doing to take care of it? I would hate to lose this beautiful coral because I don't know how to take care of it.

Lots of water flow, decent light, a little bit of Phyto and Oster Egg feeding, and perhaps some iodide additions should do the trick. These are on of the hardier and easier gorgs as they are Photosynthetic.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, algea is one of the number one killers of these gorgs. Any slime or hair algea will coat the branches and start to kill them off, so do what ever you need to do to keep the algea at bay. Ie. low phosphates and nitrates.

Are we talking about purple bush grogonian, Muriceopsis flavida, or purple frilly gorgonian Psuedoterogorgia elisabethae? The connection between common names and Latin is from website, that appears first in the Google image search for "purple bush gorgonian".

I had only the purple frilly one, but, judging from descriptions, they are both photosynthetic and will use some additional feeding.

I have both kinds. They are both pretty easy to keep. The Pseudopterogorgia grows very fast! The Muriceopsis not so much. I have algae problems in my tank, but with high flow, the algae does not grow on my gorgs, thank goodness.
