Some tips of my purple dragon are turning white. Should I break them off with tweezers maybe?

I know you said your alk is 9, but a few things to consider:

1. Have you double checked with a second alk kit, or a known alkalinity number (salifert now includes reference samples)

2. Are you running as ULN, or running GFO? higher alk with very low NO3 and PO4 often leads to tip burns.

As far as the tips, you can break them off, but they'll probably be grown over again when you solve your issue.

My tank has been fallow for 5 months.... that sounds crazy I know but I was so busy traveling in the summer and Sept. that i didn't have time to buy fish and properly QT. So yes I believe I am ULN right now. I can't get a Nitrate reading from my Salifert kit and I have the Hanna P04 (not the ultra low checker) and it always reads 0....

I will double check the Alk with Salifert as I normally use a Hanna checker.

No GFO at the moment, I do run an ATS and skimmer.

I have ramped up feeding the tank with Reef Chili and Roids every 5-10 days for the last month...

All my sps is paling out badly.

I do have 3 fish do to go into the QT tomorrow.... and another 4 in 3 weeks....

I prefer to break off tips to avoid a place for algae growth. The coral might start growing extra branches at that site as well which is a plus. Dosing amino acids may also help with gaining back some coloration.
