Purple Monster RTN question

I just picked up a decent sized purple monster colony from a friend last night. The reason he let it go is because it was beginning to RTN he was worried about the whole colony dying so i took it and im going to try and save as much of the colony as possible. When i got it home i immediately cut off the whole section that was being effected which was a good section of the lower right side of the piece. I then did a revive did and placed it in the tank. I also fragged off a small piece from the top of the coral so that if the colony does die i still have a frag. Any ideas on other treatments i can try. As of this morning i didnt c and new tissue loss from around the area where i cut. If i make it another day or two without losing any tissue can i safely assume that i was successful at stopping the infection?

Also wuts the best placement in the tank for this coral. I am running an 8 bulb T5 fixture over my 120g. I am using ATI bulbs. I dont want to stress it anymore than it already is, its had a rough couple days.

I wouldn't have dipped it myself. If you cut it a good distance from the necrosis keep it in decent flow and leave it be, it's stressed. Is it stn or rtn?

im not sure he said rtn, but now im thinkin stn because he said it had taken two days for it to get to the way it was and it was less than 1/4 of the colony that was effected. i think rtn usually goes quicker if im not mistaken.

Well i just got home from work and there is no new necrosis still so im hoping its done, but the polyps r pulled way in and u all u can c r the holes that they come out of. Hopefully its gonna be ok.
