Purple People Eaters

I was just looking around on another frag website, and I saw purple people eaters zoas for $50-$70 per polyp. I know they have been around a while. What's the huge attraction? Anyone locally have these and will post a picture of them?

Do you feel like they nice enough that they are worth the money? Ar they hard to grow?

They are by far the finickiest zoanthid I have in my tank, and I have a lot of the top morphs. IMO you should not be paying $60-70 per polyp for these things...someone is trying to make a killing. I believe that ~$40 per polyp is more reasonable. The thing about these is that they grow slow, so finding them is a PITA. They're a very nice deep purple color with lime green mouth and skirt, the contrast is cool. After my finals today I'll take a pic.

I FINALLY managed to get a pic last night after feeding (the polyps are expelling "extras" but I needed a reason to NOT study for finals )

I'll get better pics as soon as my last final is over (3 pm today).

Those red wines are cool. I have some that look just like it except they're gold instead of red.

These are close

They're a bronze color with gold speckles all over and a light green skirt.

Sounds good Try taking a razor blade and separating them from the rde's that way. Depending on what kind of rock it is you might just be able to cut underneath the mat (also with a razor blade) and get them up that way.

It's grown across an old fungia skeleton that's about 7" x 4"

ahhh i have those too... got them at MS i believe. the specks are more yellow.

Those armageddon's look like colored aiptasia. Kinda wierd but cool.
