Purple Pocillopora is this a problem?

Was at my LFS looking at SPS frags tonight and really liked the Purple Pocillopora In their display tank. They offered to frag off a piece for me. I purchased a 1.5 inch piece fragged onto a frag plug. After I got it home and placed in the tank I noticed the piece I received has a small branch off the center that is white and lost all it's tissue The tissue loss is only on the branch and not on the main trunk of the frag. Not sure if this was from the coral being fragged previously or some bleaching that occurred to the display piece. I am concerned that the tissue damage could continue to spread. I will try and get a picture tomorrow.

Most times it will be ok, but to be safe, I try to trim any distressed branches off. It is most likely from some frag glue which is nothing to worry about. If it was already turning white in their tank its best to trim it,
