Here's a picture from today...

The other side is worse, but he wouldn't turn that way for a picture

it will take a lil while for it to go away yes .. i would hold off .. i used to take care of this womens tank that had a yellow and a hippo and both had it .. seems like it does take forever to go away but you dont want to rush it from healing .. give him minced garlic nori it will help him along ..

Yeah the filter I'm using on the QT tank is a HOB with two filters with carbon in the insides.

Not really my first choice for a filter lol :)

I'm going to start the 55 as a holding tank for new fish and use a big Eheim with live rock rubble in it instead.

The purple doesn't look like he's getting worse BTW, maybe even a little better.

Having done the following seems to have made him happier:
- Bigger Tank
- Tons more natural light
- More Nori (food in general)
- More Flow
- More Live Rock
- Removed Carbon
- Upped Vitamins

Hopefully in 3-4 weeks he'll be a lot better and be ready to be introduced to the 240 with the Yellow Tang at the same time. Would hate if he wasn't 100% to be introduced to the Yellow.

Out of curiosity, what vitamins are you feeding?

Just Kent Zoe, Marine C and Garlic Xtreme.

I just bought some Selcon as well, will start adding that in a few day.

We're going to the coast for two days, so with my mother in law house sitting I really don't want to switch anything up until I'm back.

How is the tang doing ? I have had HLLE, slowly recovering from it. Affected my 5 tangs in a bad way. Have been fighting it for the last 14 months.
Have you checked your equipment for Stray voltage ??? can be attributed to causing various problems. Problems such as: finrot, hole-in-the-head disease and numerous others.
Get a ground probe, it´s really cheap
