I think this is what you can take away from this discussion:
If you have the self control to seriously only have 3 fish in that tank (considering start-up costs, maintenance costs, etc I can't imagine paying all that for 3 fish, but that's me
) you should be fine.
Beyond that, a PT in a 90g with the regular assortment of other fish will not work for very long.
My own experience... my TINY 25 cent size PT grew larger than both by powder blue and tomini and started being a jerk to them.... all in 9 months.
