Purple Tang remnant spots after treatments TTM

I was wondering if any one could offer some advice on what these spots might be?
This fish has been through

15 days TTM equaling 5 moves every 3 days (less 72hrs)
2 rounds of prazi
1x 50 mins bath of formalin.

The formalin bath was between 1st and 2nd transfer. After the formalin bath going into the 2nd transfer it looked really bad for ich. Salted pretty bad. But gradually cleared during the remaining transfers.

The 5th transfer was into the QT where he is now. I'm just not sure if these are scars from the ich or something else. He's eating nori, mysis, cobalt flakes currently.

Water Params are the normal. 0 across the board. 78 temp.

Looks like that could possibly be velvet.

not necessarily. I have found CP to be effective against velvet.

From what I understand, velvet kills rather quickly. If he's looked like this since I moved him to QT after all the above treatments, do you think velvet would linger for a week? Or even more, he's been kicking around since Feb 1st. It's Feb. 16th now. Would velvet already taken him down by now?
Trying to both learn more and help out a fish. Thanks for all the input and support.

How is Prime with this? If 21 days is the treatment period ammonia is going to be a problem. Right now prime and small water changes are keeping it under control hospital tank

Now this I don't have any experience with. Maybe the experts will chime in soon, but I would be prepared to make water changes when necessary.

Prime is fine with it. U can still do waterchanges just account for the difference and add back
I always do a 50% change so I just add 50% more ick shield dosage
However DMorty made me aware that a better treatment is actually adding a full dosage every 5 days. He was told this by a very reputable aquarium curator.
I just started doing this but I think my QT got a really bad case of flukes that I was unaware of and they will probably succumb to the fluke before a full treatment of cp was completed

I really appreciate the input. Can you please explain the above to me? I don't fully follow that.

BTW.. my supply of this should arrive tomorrow if not Saturday. Crossing fingers.

I had red sea bannerfish with similar spots.
It occurred after 3 years in my care. during that time, I was busy with work and the water got a bit cloudy. Delayed some water changes.

I think those spots may be stress mark and viral in nature, similar to lympho.
copper and other meds didn't help.

Thanks for your input! And after 3 years.. wow. Seemed you were home free at that point. I couldn't imagine after 3 years having a fish just get this and die. That's terrible.

More thoughts please! I am sure I'll see this again and would like to get to the bottom of it. It might help others as well.

That bannerfish was a single fish in an aquarium and he was easily spooked. I think it was constant stress that did him in.

I would get a group on my next purchase. If they feel at ease, less stress...
Extra live rock and coral skeleton hiding space.


Also, I read that beta glucan and vitamin supplementation are helpful to boost immune systems.

I plan to use beta glucan on my next purchase for the first 2 weeks.

Vitamin will be used once a week for regular feeding.



Beta glucan cannot be used constantly or it will loose effectiveness.


I just finished feeding beta glucan to a starcki damselfish. So far he is healthy.

Interesting. I think the vitamin supplements are critical to healthy fish as well. I've never heard of the beta glucan before though.
Anyone else seen these spots before?
