Purple Up

does any one have experience with purple up? for increasing their coralline algae growth? I have coralline algae in my tank but not the growth i am looking for. good? bad? please let me know

I am getting good growth with the 2 part Calcium dosing.

I forget who told me this but it worked... If you find some spots of Coraline on anything just chip them off and let them float in the water... in a few days you will see them triple!!

Maintain good alk, Ca, and Mg levels and you'll get good coralline growth without any fancy additives ;)

I have seen some purple up horror stories where people overdosed and ended up destroying their tanks. The best way to get the coralline growth you want is to keep up with your parameters and your water changes. Patience is by far the greatest additive for your tank.

my calc levels are at 400 so i have been keeping things steady there and not adding anything to the tank... the only thing i added was some iodine for my soft corals.

High light levels and a long photoperiod can also slow down the growth. Is the growth that you have now on the undersides/lower light areas of the tank?

try scraping some of the algae off of the glass and it should spread and seed the rest of the tank....I wish I had your problem... Im actually going to clean off my glass this week and will have alot of very pink I can try and save in a baggy that you can have If you want... or if anyone else wants "seed" let me know =) i live in smithtown

im free most of next week..i work nights though..so any time during the day.....im sure i can scrape some nice pink for anyone who needs some
