Purple Urchin reef safe?

As I understand it they are generally reef safe, but I read something that said they are not meant for warm waters. (My tank is at 76 deg)


Your thoughts/experience?

personally.. i say get a long spine or a tuxedo...

We've got a black and a purple urchin in our 125reef....so far so good about 2 months and they cruise about the tank munching on algae along with the turbo snails & really like it when they can polish off the nori-clip when the tang is done with dinner...long spines are great, do a wonderful job of cleaning but grow so fast you end up trading them to other reefer's (good idea) or back to the LFS you got it from for about $.30 on the $1 (30% trade value vs your initial purchase cost)...what about pincushion ones? All the tuxedo's we've seen locally seem to pass on to the GreatReef within a short time of being in their new abode's...
