Puruple sponge Identification???

Bones18

In Memoriam
hey guys,

Was at the LFS yesterday and I saw what I initially thought was a hard coral, but it ended up being a sponge. I thought why not, so I picked it up and just was looking for a little help identifying it as well as some general information as to how I should care for it. I'm also showing concern because airbubbles seem to be rising up through it and I'm sure that can't be good for it. It is located in indirect current in one of my 12 gallon JBJ nanos. I have the k-2 viper halide 150watt for the light, water is at 79, salinity is at 1.024, and everything else is excellent. I figure my problem is either an access of light, of undesirable temp. What are your thoughts? Thanks so much.

CHECK MY GALLERY FOR THE PICTURES, if they are to small PM me if you think you can help with your email so I can send the full size images to you.

thanks again,

Brandon

Hard to tell from small picture but look slike it might be

Cribrochalina vasculum (brown bowl sponge)

ive seen those before they almost look like they are made out of plastic, supposedly they are photosynthetic, i think your fine as long as your algae is in control and you sort out the bubble issue
