Putting a new sump/fuge in

I have a 120gal sps tank and I want to get a new sump/fuge that has a bigger skimmer section. With my current sump/fuge I have to put the skimmer in the return chamber and theres not much room for a skimmer any bigger than the one I have.

Will removing my old sump/fuge and putting a new one in cause the tank to cycle and harm all my corals?(mostly all acros)

Removing your existing sump and fuge shouldn't cause any issues. Just make sure you don't release anything into your water while switching them out.
With your return pump off this really shouldn't be an issue.

Make sure you have powerheads moving water in your DT while you are doing the switch.

It is what you are placing back into the fuge that is the potential issue.
Does your fuge have some kind of substrate. If so I would be inclined to replace it with new substrate. It would be tough to reuse it in a new fuge without releasing a lot of stuff into your water.

Make sure you have some mixed up, heated, ready to go, salt water to replace what you lose during the switch.

Keep an eye on your DT temp if you are removing your heater along with your sump. Depending on your room temps and how long this switch out takes. Sometimes they take longer than you've planned.

Thanks reef smac, I have mirical mud in my current fuge witj a few pieces of rock with xena and cheato. I was planning on not doing a substrate at all this time just more rock and the cheato and xena, sound good? Or should I use a substrate u think?
