Putting overflows in a 125

I found a good deal on a 125 and some other equipment that I almost can't pass up. The only issue is that the tank is not currently drilled, which I would want to do (or maybe use hang-on overflows). How much should I expect to spend to install overflows and how much of a pain in the butt is it going to be? Anyone have a cheap RR 125? Any words of wisdom or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I thought u were getting Fishdocs 90? You can drill tanks with a diamond bit and a dremel pretty easy. There is some risk of the tank cracking, but I have done it 4 times with no problems. Some of the other club members have done it 10-20 times with no problems.

I've done the dremel thing and the diamond tip bit hole saw. You want the diamond tip holesaw. It still wasn't quick-alot quicker than the dremel and more control, and was hard to start the hole because they don't have center guides, but for under $20, I got two 38mm and one 45mm (for 3/4" and 1" bulkhead holes) on ebay. The Critter used to sell black acrylic overflow covers that could easily be siliconed in place. If at all possible, drilled is the way to go. You are likely not going to be able to drill the bottom, though, as it is most likely tempered.

Gary,
How would you know if the bottom or any of the glass is tempered for that matter? I was looking at a non drilled Oceanic 110 but was scared that it would be tempered glass.

Only way to know about tempered glass is to contact the manufacture. You can not tell from just looking.

I am getting fishdoc's 90 (don't have a heart attack Chris)... so, in reality, it is probably not the best idea to get this one too. The guy does not seem to know a lot about the tank, like even what make it is, and so I am quite sure he wouldn't know if it was tempered. HOB overflows make me very nervous, but I don't know that I'd have a lot of confidence in anything I construct either. This all adds up to a lot of things that make me think it is not the best idea.

Is this 125 a 6' tank? I am gonna need a 6' tank in the very near future (looking for a home and planning on moving in 2 -3 months), so if anyone knows of a good deal on a used tank, please let me know.
