putty under a clam

anyone ever roll a log of puddy and stick their clam on it? i read this would keep worms from eating it. Anyone know if this is true or if there are any pluses or minuses to it?

Worms will not eat a healthy clam, and clams like to move to where they are comfortable.
I'd say locking down a clam with putty would be a bad idea.

sorry, didnt mean locking him down to the rock. i just meant along the clam. if he wanted to move he still could. you still think its a bad idea?

What kind of clam? Some like the sand, some the rock work because some like to attach themselves where other types just like sitting in the sand.
Squamies and Deresas like the sand, Croceas and Maximas the rocks. My Gigas is happy in the sand too.
