PVC glue and overflow question

Just use regular PVC glue. You can use wet-r-dry if everything isn't dry. Personally, I do not glue the inside standpipes in the overflow box in case I want/need to modify or anything later. I just thread a male adapter into all of the bulkheads and lubed the end of the standpipes with some silicone grease beforehand.
If you have never glued pvc before, practice once or twice so you get the feel for how long it takes to set. Some kinds set much faster than others--just a few seconds once the connection is made.
