PVC Glue ??????

I have glued and set within minutes. If I have time I let it sit for a few hours.

i'm guilty of letting it set less than an hour before letting tank water go through. i haven't had any problems but i would recommend at least a few hours or so just in case

i got leaks the first time i did it and used it after a few hours so i always let it dry overnight now. no need to waste my time or money again.

try a medium set medium weight glue for best hold... either the all weather oatey PVC or general PVC cement from Oatey in the orange can. The PVC glue in the goldish greenish can from Oatey sets up too fast (as well as thin) and you tend to not get a good bond unless you use the horrific purple primer that gets on everything.

For most situations I usually give a joint about 15 minutes before firing it up. Some cases up to an hour.
