pycnogonid (sea spider) Hunt

I need some ideas on the best way to flush it (or them..:eek1: ) out. I relocated the main rock containing the majority of zoanthids. There are a few scattered about the tank but not enough to worry about. When I hypered the rock nothing came out. Either it is very stubborn or it hides in a different rock.

I don't want to toss the rock as it contains corals I wish to keep and its a nice flat rock perfect for attatching frags. I am thinking about removing the z's only. But I need to know, do pycnogonid's target zoanthids only or will they develope a taste for something else without a favorite choice.

Any advice would be wonderful. I know that I should also go after the Fireworm at some point, but I am not going to put it on the urgent list just yet.

Thanks!

Spiders are hard to get out. The only way I removed them (or at least I think I got them all) was to observe the rock and suck them out with a turkey baster. Takes a couple of weeks to get them all out, but I think I did.

You can also try different dips or even the dip they recommend for zoapox.

:D :D
Whoo Hoo! Got one! But I don't think it is the one from the molt.
:(
This one was much smaller.

I would still like to know if Z's are the only snack of choice if anyone knows? My green stars also dissapeared a long time ago. Around the same time I added the new rocks.

Thanks!

The zoa predators that show up in tanks seem to be pretty specific in their prey preference. I don't remember references to their being found on other corals. It's very unlikely that they would feed on other types of inverts.
